I Wish to Meet... the Seattle Crew of Discovery Channel's Hit TV Series: Deadliest Catch

It was all in a days work when 10-year-old Gary captained the "Northwestern," manned the ship's controls, threw crab pots deep into the waters of Puget Sound and avoided a hostile pirate raid. But, what else would you expect from this first mate who was schooled on the tricks of the trade by none other than his hero, Captain Sig of the Discovery Channel's Deadliest Catch, as his wish from the Make-A-Wish Foundation.

Even before the festivities began, Gary — who is living with Ewing's Sarcoma — was giddy with anticipation, "I am so excited for my wish! Today's going to be the best day of my life!" he exclaimed.

Gary's once-in-a-lifetime experience began in high class style as he arrived at the Pacific Fisherman Shipyard in Ballard in a limo. The excited, hopeful seaman literally jumped out of the vehicle and began giving bear hugs to his favorite crew members, including Captain Sig himself, before boarding the infamous fishing vessel.

Before this famous vessel took off for its adventure on the waters of Puget Sound, the unthinkable happened! Pirates overtook the vessel—looking for "Cap'n Yost!" As any good captain would, a wide-eyed Gary avoided a clash by befriending the pirates and even learning a sea faring trick or two from these bandits! Captian Sig was so impressed he immediately proclaimed Gary captain for the day amid the applause of friends, family and supporters!

Gary fit right into the sea faring life, operating the crane lift, scouting out the perfect spot for crabbing, befriending pirtates and even handling a crisis with the U.S. Coast Guard. The day proved to be a rip-roaring success for Gary—a day both he, his family and the Northwestern crew will not soon forget!
