If you know a child between the ages of
2 1/2 and 17 who is battling a life-threatening illness and might be eligible for our services, please consider referring them to Make-A-Wish. To maintain the privacy of our families, Make-A-Wish accepts referrals from three main sources: medical professionals treating the child, a parent or legal guardian of the potential wish child, and even the children themselves. Although anyone can inquire about a wish for a child, Make-A-Wish must be contacted by a direct family member or the family's medical professional in order to qualify a child for a wish.

All medical information remains confidential and is not disclosed to third parties unless it is required for the wish and consent is obtained by the parent(s) or legal guardian(s). To learn more about referring a child from Alaska, Montana, Northern Idaho or Washington, please contact Lisa Carlson, Wish & Outreach Coordinator at or toll free at (800) 304-9474.

A big fish in a very big pool was what Airial wanted to see most of all. The three-year-old, who loves to watch the fish in her aquarium at home, could wish for nothing more than to see the "big fish" (a.k.a. dolphins) in Hawaii. With that in mind, Airial and her family spent a week in paradise, watching the dolphins at play and feeding them their snacks. Oh yeah, Airial also thought that sunshine and beaches were great too.
