Season of Wishes®
Alaska
With Santa just north of our Anchorage office, our holiday spirit in Alaska kicked off with a First Friday Art Show at UnWINEd. Several original works of wish art, created by wish children reflecting on their wish experiences, were auctioned off and received rave reviews.
The merriment continued at the "Music for Make-A-Wish" Benefit Concert hosted by Royal Celebrity Tours at the Snow Goose Theater on December 8. Talented young musicians from Anchorage Music and Dance made their professional debut and kicked off the event. Local musicians Melissa Mitchell, Sean "Spiff" Chambers, Aaron Benolkin and Tim Haren then took center stage and rocked the house.
Our special guest was Seana, a 17-year-old soon to be wish recipient, who described her illness and the hope that her Make-A-Wish experience has provided to her every step of the way. Seana expressed, "Five more infusions until I swim with dolphins!"
Special thanks to Royal Celebrity Tours, Snow Goose Restaurant, Meridian Systems, the talented musicians, and Seana who together helped us raise more than $7,250 for Alaska wish children!
Eastern Washington
The Season of Wishes is abound in Eastern Washington with a dozen businesses participating in our star fundraising program, including Nectar wine bar where our first annual Season of Wishes and Wine event took place. A volunteer committee planned, organized and executed this event which raised over $7,000 and introduced our mission to local sponsors and supporters. Wish stars are available at Nectar throughout December in hopes to raise more dollars for our chapter.
The Season of Wishes continued in Eastern Washington with the Christmas Party at Sacred Heart Hospital. Children in treatment, many of whom are our wish kids, and their siblings were showered with food and fun. Special thanks to our event sponsors: ITRON, Paine Hamblin, Lukins & Annis, Panda Express, Swanson Body Shop and Spokane Teachers CU.

Nearly 300 children of all ages Enjoyed food, entertainment and fun at our chapter's inaugural brunch with Santa at the Four Season's Hotel Seattle on December 4.
Together, we raised more than $12,000 to help grant additional wishes in our local community. Special guests included wish children, including six-year-old wish child, Kaden, whose wish art was on display and up for auction at the event. Kaden also helped draw the winners of our raffle for a special experience at the Four Seasons Hotel Seattle and Woodland Park Zoo!
